Au cours de sa vie intellectuelle remarquable, Joseph Ki-Zerbo (1922–2006) a lancé un éloquent cri d’interpellation au sujet de l’extraversion du système éducatif national africain, coupé de l’humus culturel endogène et du champ transnational panafricain. Il appelait de ses vœux et incarnait une souveraineté intellectuelle dans l’éducation des Africain·es, préparés décidés à une écocitoyenneté planétaire.
Les contributions du présent volume, provenant de l’Afrique globale et diasporique, du Brésil au Burkina Faso, de la Colombie à la Côte d’Ivoire, interrogent rigoureusement les défis contemporains majeurs à partir de la pensée kizerbienne de l’éducation, soulignant sa pertinence heuristique et son opérationnalité, en la confrontant de manière féconde à des perspectives nouvelles, et à des processus alternatifs concrets.
Sur l’initiative du Centre international Joseph Ki-Zerbo pour l’Afrique et sa Diaspora – N’an laara an sara (CIJKAD-NLAS), cet ouvrage séminal interpelle tout acteur de l’éducation et toute personne concernée par l’enjeu des systèmes éducatifs de l’Afrique globale.
Philosophe de formation, et nourri d’une expérience pédagogique diversifiée au Burkina Faso, en Guyane, en Océanie et au Sénégal, Dr Lazare Ki-Zerbo a consacré plusieurs publications au panafricanisme et au fédéralisme personnel. Jacques d’Adesky est coprésident scientifique du CIJKAD-NLAS. Il a été chercheur et directeur administratif adjoint du Centre d’études afro-asiatiques de l’Université Cândido Mendes, professeur et coordinateur général du cours de relations internationales à l’Université Estácio de Sá au Brésil. Il est l’auteur de Racismes et antiracismes au Brésil (2001) et Uma Breve História do Racismo: Intolerâncias, Genocídio e Crimes contra a Humanidade (2023).
During his remarkable intellectual career, Joseph Ki-Zerbo (1922–2006) issued an eloquent call to action regarding the extroversion of the African national education system, which was cut off from endogenous cultural roots and the pan-African transnational sphere. He called for and embodied intellectual sovereignty in the education of Africans, prepared and determined to become global eco-citizens.
The contributions to this volume, from across Africa and the diaspora, from Brazil to Burkina Faso, Colombia to Côte d'Ivoire, rigorously examine major contemporary challenges based on Ki-Zerbo's thinking on education, highlighting its heuristic relevance and operationality by fruitfully confronting it with new perspectives and concrete alternative processes.
On the initiative of the Joseph Ki-Zerbo International Centre for Africa and its Diaspora – N'an laara an sara (CIJKAD-NLAS), this seminal work is of interest to all those involved in education and anyone concerned with the challenges facing education systems in Africa as a whole.
A philosopher by training, with diverse teaching experience in Burkina Faso, French Guiana, Oceania and Senegal, Dr Lazare Ki-Zerbo has devoted several publications to pan-Africanism and personal federalism. Prof. Jacques d'Adesky is scientific co-chair of CIJKAD-NLAS. He has been a researcher and deputy administrative director of the Centre for Afro-Asian Studies at Cândido Mendes University, professor and general coordinator of the international relations course at Estácio de Sá University in Brazil. He is the author of Racisms and Anti-racisms in Brazil (2001) and A Brief History of Racism: Intolerance, Genocide and Crimes against Humanity (2023).
