Democracy in Our Plates. Building a New Food Welfare System
En défendant le principe de Sécurité sociale de l’alimentation, les auteurs montrent qu’une démocratie dans l’alimentation pourrait être le fondement de la nécessaire transformation de notre système alimentaire. Celle-ci toucherait l’agriculture, les chaînes de production, mais aussi de distribution et de restauration. S’inspirant du modèle de la Sécurité sociale française, la Sécurité sociale de l’alimentation ambitionne de permettre à toutes et tous d’acheter des produits conventionnés auprès de professionnels eux-mêmes conventionnés, favorisant un système de répartition juste et respectueux pour les travailleurs, les mangeurs et la planète. Loin d’être un projet clés en main, ce livre explore des pistes pour enfin instaurer un droit à une alimentation durable et choisie en France.
Tous deux agronomes, Sarah Cohen et Tanguy Martin militent ensemble dans le groupe Agricultures et souveraineté alimentaire d’Ingénieur·e·s sans frontières (ISF Agrista) et participent en son nom aux collectifs Nourrir et pour une Sécurité sociale de l’alimentation.
By defending the principle of Social Food Security, the authors show that democracy in food could be the foundation of the necessary transformation of our food system. This would affect agriculture, production chains, but also distribution and catering. Inspired by the French welfare system, Food Social Security aims to allow everyone to purchase approved products from professionals who are themselves approved, promoting a fair and respectful distribution system for workers, eaters and the planet. Far from carrying out a turnkey project, this book aims to explore the paths for finally establishing a right to sustainable and chosen food in France.
Both agronomists, Sarah Cohen and Tanguy Martin campaign together in the Agriculture and Food Sovereignty group of Engineers Without Borders (ISF Agrista) and participate on its behalf in the Feeding and For a Social Food Security collectives.
