Menina mandioca é um livro infantil que brotou da vivência da autora em terras indígenas durante a sua infância. Ele nasceu do desejo da autora de ver crianças e adultos sonhando um pouco em ser planta, pedra, ser rio. O mito indígena de origem do alimento essencial para a sobrevivência dos povos originários nos faz sonhar e vivenciar outras existências, de sentir a terra e criar raízes com a nossa ancestralidade.
Rita Carelli é atriz, roteirista, dramaturga, diretora, escritora e ilustradora. Com a ONG Vídeo nas Aldeias, publicoua coleção Um Dia na Aldeia (Sesi). Seus livros Akykysia, o dono da caça (Sesi) e Minha família enauenê (FTD) foram contemplados com os selos White Ravens, da biblioteca de Munique, e Altamente Recomendável da FNLIJ. Este último foi semifinalista do Prêmio Jabuti e eleito melhor livro na categoria infantil pela AEILIJ, em 2019. É responsável pela pesquisa e organização de A vida não é útil (2020) e Futuro ancestral (2022), de Ailton Krenak (Companhia das Letras). Em 2021 lançou o livro ilustrado Amor, o coelho (Editora Caixote) e o romance Terrapreta (Editora 34), com o qual ganhou o Prêmio São Paulo de Literatura na categoria Melhor Romance de Estreia do Ano de 2021.
Manioc Girl is a children’s book that grew out of the author’s experience in indigenous lands during her childhood. It was born from her desire to see children and adults dream a little bit about being a plant, a stone, or even a river. The indigenous myth of the origin of that essential food for survival of American original people makes us dream and experience other existences, of feeling the land and creating roots with our ancestry.
Rita Carelli is an actress, screenwriter, playwright, director, writer and illustrator. With the NGO Vídeo nas Aldeias, she published the collection Um Dia na Aldeia (Sesi). Books by her Akykysia, the owner of the hunt (Sesi) and My Enauenê family (FTD) were awarded the White Ravens seal, from the Munich library, and Highly Recommendable from FNLIJ. The latter was a semi-finalist for the Jabuti Prize and voted best book in the children's category by AEILIJ in 2019. He is responsible for researching and organizing A vida não é useful (2020) and Futuro Ancestral (2022), by Ailton Krenak (Companhia das Letras) . In 2021, she released the illustrated book Amor, o Coelho (Editora Caixote) and the novel Terrapreta (Editora 34), with which she won the São Paulo Literature Prize in the category Best New Novel of the Year 2021.
