“Metal” es un libro extremadamente placentero, grácil, aunque su hilo conductor trate de una feroz caída. Como primer libro es un libro de comienzos y no de finales. Entre frases de uso común rescatadas del recuerdo de la infancia se entretejen elaborados pensamientos contemporáneos sobre la vida y la materia. Siento que Lourdes tomó este libro cuando las páginas estaban aún en blanco, lo ató a una cuerda y lo revoleó por el aire. Lo sumergió en agua, lo golpeó contra la tierra, lo abrazó fuerte por momentos y ahora lo soltó para que esté en tus manos. Este libro aún está empapado. Sea musgo. Trate de no agregarle peso a esta piedra porque puede, sin quererlo, romper la magia de la levitación.
Lourdes Silva (Montevideo, 1989) es Magister en literatura contemporánea, psicóloga y licenciada en filosofía. Diplomada en estética y filosofía del arte. Trabaja como docente universitaria, investigadora, curadora y artista.
"Metal" is an extremely pleasant, graceful book, even if its main thread is about a fierce fall. As a first book it is a book of beginnings rather than endings. Between commonplace phrases rescued from childhood memories are woven elaborate contemporary thoughts on life and matter. I feel that Lourdes took this book when the pages were still blank, tied it to a string and flipped it in the air. She dipped it in water, hit it against the earth, hugged it tightly for moments and now released it into your hands. This book is still soaking wet. Be mossy. Try not to add weight to this stone because it may inadvertently break the magic of levitation.
Lourdes Silva (Montevideo, 1989) holds a Master's degree in contemporary literature, psychology and philosophy. She has a diploma in aesthetics and philosophy of art. She works as a university lecturer, researcher, curator and artist.
