Readings of 'A Madman's World' & 'Mystery in Palmarola' presented by Vakxikon Publications (Greece)
A MADMAN'S WORLD, DAMIAN LAOUNAROS
A soldier facing his demons, a father oppressing his daughter, an employee who would go as far as to sell his soul for money, a homeless man taking on the system, a vengeful superhero and a young child in a mental institution. In fourteen standalone stories (some based on true events) A Madman’s World depicts the disintegration of social structures; morals, values, ideals, family oppression, interpersonal relationships and love. Daily affairs which we knowingly or unknowingly refuse to confront, having succumbed to convenience and opportunism in times when appearance is everything, blur the lines between madness and
logic.
Translated from Greek to English by Marianna Avouri.
MYSTERY IN PALMAROLA, PANOS PANTELOUKAS
The methodical and experienced professor of criminology Horazio Spinelli departs for a sailing holiday on the exotic island of Palmarola in order to relax and enjoy the sea and the local cuisine. But he quickly finds himself at the center of a new case that takes place right there and is called upon to assist the Rome Criminal Investigation Department in the task of solving a murder that arouses the interest of the press worldwide. The novella is an alloy of detective mystery with ramifications in the field of history, Italian culture and the always fascinating issue of the inheritance of vast fortunes. Many suspects and many apparently
innocent.
Translated from Greek to English by Eleni Adami.
