Mehring Verlag specialises in the publication of Marxist books on current politics and history. Our most important subject areas include the struggle against war and fascism as well as the history of the international labour movement, including the Russian Revolution of 1917 and the Stalinist degeneration and dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. Here we should mention above all David North's book The Russian Revolution and the Unfinished Twentieth Century, the six-volume work Was There an Alternative? by Vadim Rogovin, the only comprehensive account of the struggle of the Left Opposition against Stalinism and the extensive writings of Leon Trotsky.
