À travers ses Brouillons, Souad Labbize cisèle sa langue d’exil pour dire l’universel du sentiment amoureux. Traduits avec l’aide de Mais-Alrim Karfoul, poète syrienne, ses poèmes deviennent offrande à la langue maternelle, comme une caresse après la dispute.
Souad Labbize a vécu à Alger et à Tunis avant de s’établir à Toulouse. Elle est l’autrice de recueils de poésie, de récits et d’un roman. Une anthologie de son oeuvre poétique traduite par Susanna Lang parait en 2023 aux États-Unis sous le titre My soul has no corners (Dialogos Books). Souad Labbize est également traductrice littéraire.
Through her Drafts, Souad Labbize chisels out her language of exile to express the universal of love. Translated with the help of Mais-Alrim Karfoul, a Syrian poet, her poems become an offering to the mother tongue, like a caress after a fight.
Souad Labbize lived in Algiers and Tunis before settling in Toulouse. She is the author of collections of poetry, stories and a novel. An anthology of her poetic work, translated by Susanna Lang, will be published in 2023 in the United States under the title My soul has no corners (Dialogos Books). Souad Labbize is also a literary translator.
