蘇是以自身經歷出發，由「女兒」、「姊妹」、「孫女」等視角，記錄著雲南的農家女性在中國家庭與社會被忽視的處境。全書將從個人視角，從向家庭延展至社會結構，與時代下活著的女性——那些在歲月裡無聲的女性，最終以柔韌之姿，為自己尋找一個能安放身心之處。望能為身處邊緣環境的女性，帶來一分力量，願我們珍貴地閃耀在原本就該獲得的位置。
蘇是生於雲南，長於雲南，二十歲開始寫作，從邊疆看世界，並思考與世界的關係。二〇二四年移居東京，繼續在異鄉與自己的族群記憶對話，關注那些日常卻鮮少被講述的女性生活經驗。曾入圍全球華語大學生短詩大賽，二〇二一年獲Matters金筆非虛構寫作者推薦，二〇二五年獲詩歌年代第二屆「姐姐詩歌獎」特別獎。
Daughters of the Borderlands portrays the lives of rural Yunnan women living at the margins of family, culture, and the state. Writing as a daughter, sister, and granddaughter, Su Shi reveals their struggles with economic stagnation, recurring injustice, and the weight of patriarchal expectations. She depicts their quiet, reed‑like resilience and the desire to offer future daughters a protection. The book critiques social inequity and the commodification of women in borderland communities. Supported by Taiwan’s NCAF grant and designed in a portable bunkobon format with original illustrations, it offers a rare frontier perspective and a resonant account of women seeking dignity.
Su Shi, a writer from Yunnan’s borderlands, explores ethnic memory and women’s lives. Now based in Tokyo, she continues her literary work. Her honors include the Matters Golden Pen and the 2025 Older Sister Poetry Award.
