Grecia Cáceres (Lima, 1968) es poeta, novelista y crítica literaria. Vive en París, donde dirige el área América Latina del IESA. El jardín en el desierto es su sexta novela.
The Garden in the Desert, the sixth novel by Grecia Cáceres, tells the story of Leonor, born in a saltpetre town in the Atacama Desert. Orphaned young, she travels through Chile seeking affection, education, and work. Along the way, she faces poverty and wealth, rejection and support, finding strength in the women around her. With precise and moving prose, Cáceres portrays a society shaped by mining and its consequences. This is a coming-of-age, adventure, and social novel that celebrates hope, freedom, and the unexpected beauty of self-discovery.
Grecia Cáceres (Lima, 1968) is a poet, novelist, and literary critic. She lives in Paris, where she leads the Latin America department at IESA. The Garden in the Desert is her sixth novel.
