Il est important de faire le bilan de santé avant le mariage. Le test d’électrophorèse en fait partie et malheureusement les parents du jeune KABYE l’ont compris très tard. Après plusieurs tours à l’hôpital et des moments de panique, la mère de KABYE par l’entremise de sa sœur va finalement comprendre que son fils ne tombe pas malade sans aucune raison. Le médecin va leur annoncer une triste nouvelle qui va déchirer le cœur de la maman : KABYE est drépanocytaire.
KABYE va désormais faire face à cette maladie génétique au quotidien. La prise de médicament sera son quotidien, Plusieurs recommandations devront être respectées par ses parents pour qu’il soit toujours en forme et en bonne santé car avec un enfant drépanocytaire, la moindre erreur peut être fatale.
