Mirar hasta el final es una profunda meditación sobre los últimos 50 años de la historia chilena, tejida a través del arte, la memoria personal y la memoria colectiva. Más que un relato histórico árido, el libro funciona como una «autobiografía velada», donde la voz del autor interactúa con el «caudal de las energías colectivas». Se explora el periodo desde la Unidad Popular y el golpe de Estado de 1973 hasta el levantamiento social de 2019, argumentando que la memoria y la imaginación son neurológica y éticamente inseparables.
Paula Arrieta Gutiérrez es artista visual y doctora en Historia y Teoría del Arte por la Universidad de Buenos Aires. Actualmente es profesora en la Universidad de Chile. Su obra, que tiende puentes entre la práctica creativa y el pensamiento crítico, ha sido publicada en revistas académicas y en importantes medios culturales. Es autora de Si muere Duchamp (2018) y de capítulos en los libros Del salto y la marcha. Chile, octubre de 2019 (2020) y Palestina a tientas (2025).

Rather than a dry historical account, the book functions as a "veiled autobiography" where the author’s voice interacts with the "caudal of collective energies". The author explores the period from the Unidad Popular and the 1973 coup to the 2019 social uprising, arguing that memory and imagination are neurologically and ethically inseparable.
Paula Arrieta Gutiérrez is a visual artist and holds a PhD in History and Theory of the Arts from the University of Buenos Aires. She is currently a professor at the University of Chile. Her work, which bridges the gap between creative practice and critical thought, has been published in academic journals and major cultural media. She is also author of Si muere Duchamp (2018) and of chapters in the book Del salto y la marcha. Chile, octubre de 2019 (2020) and Palestina a tientas (2025).
