Nephi, the cloud that wanted to make it rain
Nefi está convencida de que no puede generar lluvia. Cree que nació sin talento y el resto de las nubes comentan que nunca podrá lograrlo. Con el apoyo de su amigo Omar y de los niños que leen la historia, se dará cuenta que con esfuerzo y práctica nada es imposible.
Este relato contrasta la mentalidad fija y la mentalidad de crecimiento, términos acuñados por la académica de la Universidad de Stanford, Carol Dweck. Nefi, la protagonista, claramente presenta una mentalidad fija, creyendo que no tiene talento y nunca va a cambiar. Omar, la cigüeña, la ayuda a entrenar y practicar para que Nefi vaya construyendo de a poco una mentalidad de crecimiento, donde el esfuerzo y la perseverancia son claves para lograr las metas.

Mamá de tres niños. Periodista y profesora de Lenguaje y Comunicación, con un máster en Educación del Teachers College, Columbia University. Actualmente se desempeña como académica de la Facultad de Educación UAndes y forma parte de la red EarlyEdu de la Universidad de Washington. Dentro de su trayectoria, ha formado y capacitado a docentes a lo largo de Chile y América Latina. Se desempeñó como directora de Formación de la Fundación Impulso Docente. Es autora de literatura infantil con cuatro libros publicados y planea publicar al menos dos más.
Nefi is convinced that she cannot make rain. He believes that he was born without talent and the rest of the clouds comment that he will never be able to achieve it. This account contrasts the fixed mindset and the growth mindset, terms coined by Stanford University scholar Carol Dweck. Nefi, the protagonist, clearly presents a fixed mindset, believing that she has no talent and will never change. Omar, the stork, helps her train and practice so that Nefi gradually builds a growth mindset, where effort and perseverance are the keys to achieving goals.

Mom of three children. Journalist and professor of Language and Communication, with a master’s degree in education from Teachers College, Columbia University. She currently works as an academic at the UAndes School of Education and is part of the EarlyEdu network at the University of Washington. Within his career, he has trained and trained teachers throughout Chile and Latin America. She served as Director of Training at the Impulso Docente Foundation. She is a children's author with four published books and plans to publish at least two more.
