Es el horror que diariamente sufre el pueblo palestino, cuyos territorios tratan de ser despojados por el régimen de Israel, desde 1948. Estas facetas de la ocupación israelí son analizadas en el libro, Palestina, crónica de un asedio, escrito por el alcalde de Recoleta, Daniel Jadue. Las similitudes entre el pueblo palestino y los pueblos originarios de Chile, como el mapuche, apelan al respeto por los derechos ancestrales.
Daniel Jadue (Santiago, 28 de junio de 1967) es un arquitecto, sociólogo y político chileno de origen palestino. Es militante del Partido Comunista de Chile (PCCh) y desde 2012 se desempeña como alcalde de la comuna santiaguina de Recoleta.

Daniel Jadue (Santiago, June 28, 1967) is a Chilean architect, sociologist and politician of Palestinian origin. He is a member of the Communist Party of Chile (PCCh), and since 2012, He has served as mayor of Recoleta, in Santiago de Chile.
