«Yo sabía que estábamos en guerra, que había habido alguna clase de combate y que ellos estarían en alguna prisión helada peleando por sus vidas. Sabía que me tocaba resistir». Así comienza esta historia: el relato de una niña formada en la manera de vivir y mirar el mundo de sus padres, militantes montoneros secuestrados por los militares en los inicios de la dictadura argentina.
Cuando ocurre «Lo Peor», ella y su hermano pasan a vivir con tíos y abuelas y aprenden el arte de disimular y camuflarse, única estrategia posible para esperar el regreso de los padres o el momento oportuno para la Revolución. Con inteligencia, dolor y un precoz sentido de la responsabilidad, sostienen una espera que se extiende hasta volverse definitiva.
Desde una mirada infantil, lúcida y feroz, Pequeños combatientes narra la vida cotidiana de los hijos de los desaparecidos: la escuela, el juego, la familia; la soledad, el miedo, la esperanza. Con una prosa conmovedora y directa, Raquel Robles escribe una novela sobre la infancia como territorio de resistencia, la memoria y la persistencia de la ternura incluso en medio de la pérdida.
Es escritora y pedagoga. Investiga los cruces de la literatura con la memoria y la ficción como herramienta de acercamiento a la verdad histórica. Como pedagoga se ha especializado en la intervención con adolescentes en conflicto con la ley penal, asumiendo roles directivos en dispositivos penales juveniles. Ha ganado el Premio Clarín de Novela (2008), y ha obtenido Mención de Honor en el Premio Gombrowicz de Novela (2019) y Mención de Honor en el Premio Nacional de Novela Sara Gallardo (2021). Su novela Hasta que mueras fue seleccionada por FILBA como una de las diez mejores novelas publicadas en el 2019. Ha participado de las Antologías Estilo libre (2018), La guerra menos pensada (2022), Democracia en red (2023) y Materia de memoria. Trece relatos a 50 años del golpe (2026). Ha sido traducida al francés, al italiano y al árabe. Tiene hasta el momento ocho títulos publicados. Es editora de Siberia Ediciones, una propuesta innovadora de relaciones más justas entre la empresa editorial y les creadores de las obras literarias. Es militante de Derechos Humanos desde hace más de tres décadas, siendo miembro fundador de H.I.J.O.S., agrupación que nuclea a hijos e hijas de las víctimas del terrorismo de Estado en la Argentina.
«I knew that we were at war, that there had been some kind of combat and that they would be in some freezing prison fighting for their lives. "I knew I had to resist." This is how this story begins: the story of a girl trained in the way of living and looking at the world of her parents, Montonero militants kidnapped by the military at the beginning of the Argentine dictatorship.
When "The Worst" happens, she and her brother go to live with uncles and grandmothers and learn the art of dissimulation and camouflage, the only possible strategy to wait for the return of their parents or the opportune moment for the Revolution. With intelligence, pain and an early sense of responsibility, they sustain a wait that extends until it becomes definitive.
From a childish, lucid and fierce perspective, Little Fighters narrates the daily life of the children of the disappeared: school, play, family; loneliness, fear, hope. With moving and direct prose, Raquel Robles writes a novel about childhood as a territory of resistance, memory, and the persistence of tenderness even in the midst of loss.
She is a writer and pedagogue. It investigates the intersections of literature with memory and fiction as a tool to approach historical truth. As a pedagogue, she has specialized in intervention with adolescents in conflict with criminal law, assuming management roles in juvenile criminal devices. He has won the Clarín Novel Prize (2008), and has obtained Honorable Mention in the Gombrowicz Novel Prize (2019) and Honorable Mention in the Sara Gallardo National Novel Prize (2021). His novel Hasta que mueras was selected by FILBA as one of the ten best novels published in 2019. He has participated in the Anthologies Freestyle (2018), The Less Thought War (2022), Red Democracy (2023) and Materia de memoria. Thirteen stories 50 years after the coup (2026). It has been translated into French, Italian and Arabic. He has so far published eight titles. She is editor of Siberia Ediciones, an innovative proposal for fairer relations between the publishing company and the creators of literary works. He has been a Human Rights activist for more than three decades, being a founding member of H.I.J.O.S., a group that brings together sons and daughters of the victims of State terrorism in Argentina.
