رمان‌های امین انصاری همواره حول موضوع‌های اجتماعی سیاسی است و این رمان کوتاه نیز در راستای عدم فراموشی گذشته و تاکید بر مبارزه و ایستادگی در برابر ظلم و بی‌عدالتی نوشته شده است.
امین انصاری، نویسنده و کنشگر ایرانی مقیم استرالیاست. او تا به امروز ۱۲ اثر تالیف و ترجمه منتشر کرده است و گاوباز چهارمین رمانی است که در نشر نوگام منتشر شده است. او از پیشگامان نشر بدون سانسور است و آثار او با دغدغه‌های اجتماعی و سیاسی همواره با نگاهی به تاریخ سرزمین ایران، از معضلات روز جامعه می‌گوید. او همانند پلی میان ایرانیان داخل و خارج از ایران، به ادبیات مهاجرت غنا می‌بخشد.
It is the story of Maziar, an Iranian investigative journalist, who took refuge in Australia, but he is still working on the corruption cases of the Iranian government with his friends in Iran. On Iranian New Year's Eve in March, he had a serious accident at an intersection in Adelaide. When he regains consciousness in the hospital, we go back in time with him to find out what happened. In this journey, we will return to Iran, to Maziar's childhood in the 1980s, which was one of the bloodiest periods in Iran's history.

Amin Ansari is an Iranian writer and social-political activist living in Australia. To date, he has published 12 original and translated works, and The Matador is the fourth novel that has been published by Nogaam Publishing. He is one of the pioneers of publishing without censorship and his works focus on social and political issues by looking at the history of Iran. As a bridge between Iranians inside and outside of Iran, he enriches the literature of migration.
