Edition 2024
Reading of James Joyce's Ulysses in Persian presented by Nogaam (Iran/UK)
More than 100 years after the first publication of Ulysses by James Joyce, Persian-speaking readers now have a chance to read the translation of Ulysses in Persian without a word censored. Translating a work such as Ulysses, which employs inventive literary techniques is an already arduous task, however, negotiating with a system of imposed censorship makes the process of translating and publishing increasingly more intricate.
This edition of Ulysses is translated by Akram Pedramnia and published by Nogaam Publishing in London. This project will be a combination of research and translation presented in six volumes supported by Literature Ireland.
Akram Pedramnia, researcher and translator of the Persian edition will read a few lines of Ulysses in Persian.
