Gashingo

Gashingo means chameleon in the Kanuri language. In Africa, it is recognized for many qualities, seven according to Hampaté Bâ. In Kanuri countries, gashingo is seen as a scholar because every time it lifts and sets down one of its legs, it is supposed to recite an entire verse from the Holy Quran. Its color-changing ability is a skill to adapt to every situation, in search of quality. The African school cannot escape the obligation to use local languages without rejecting those that are foreign, whether official or not. Interventions are thus undertaken to align with the expectation of developing a literate environment in Africa in general and in Niger in particular. Since its creation in 2006, Gashingo has published more than 300 titles across all categories.
