Mlimani

Since April 2022, Mlimani has been operating in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Mlimani is a publishing house specialized in the publication and republication of works by African (particularly Congolese) and non-African authors whose writings speak specifically to Africans, and especially to Congolese readers.

Mlimani Editions is structured around three main areas:

• Publishing
  Publication of socio-political books dealing with African realities, particularly Congolese realities. We are especially interested in issues of security, poor governance, and imperialism. In short, we focus on committed and socially engaged writing.

• Distribution
  Mlimani works in partnership with several renowned libraries and bookstores in the DRC, making it easier to sell books at affordable prices. Other young people passionate about the world of books, who volunteer with Mlimani, also promote and sell books in the streets.

• Promotion of Reading
  Mlimani organizes reading-promotion activities in schools, universities, scientific research centers, and other places where books are rarely available. Mlimani is headquartered in Goma and has branches in several cities: Bukavu, Bunia, Beni, Butembo, Kisangani, Kinshasa, Lubumbashi, and Durba. The network of focal points facilitates book sales and the organization of reading-promotion activities in all these cities.
