A Lunch at the Cook's House
"أنا لا أسحب ثِقَتي من الروح الإنسانية"
الطبَّاخ الشاب، يدعو الجميع إلى غداءٍ تطبخه أُمُّه، بطلةُ حياته، وأحسَن طبَّاخة في العالم، لكن.. هذا ليس كل شيء.
"الرائحة الإنسانية، رأيتُها في بَشَرٍ يَبْنون معًا بيوتًا مجانية ليَسْكُنها أيّ أحد، أو يحفرون بئر ماء ليشربَ أيّ أحد، ويزرعون ليأكل أيّ أحد، ويَبْنون جسرًا ليَعْبُر أيّ أحد، ورأيتُها في بَشَرٍ يمشون بشَكْل عادي في الشارع، المَشْي وسط الناس بشَكْل عادي في حَدِّ ذاته شيء طيِّب

"I do not lose my trust in the human spirit", says the war that ignites without reason, leading a cook and a history teacher - from opposing sides - to find themselves in a trench amidst the war.
The young cook invites everyone to a lunch prepared by his mother, the heroine of his life, and the best cook in the world. But that's not all.
"The human scent, I have seen it in people who build free houses for anyone to live in, or dig a well for anyone to drink from, and they plant so anyone can eat. I have seen it in people who build a bridge for anyone to cross, and I have seen it in people who walk normally in the street, walking among others, which in itself is a good thing".
Mohamed El-Fakharany
Mohamed El-Fakharany is an Egyptian writer born on March 23, 1975. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology and works as a freelance writer.

He has received several awards, including the First Prize for Short Story at the Cairo Short Story Club in 2002 and the State Encouragement Award for Short Story in 2012 for his collection "Before the Sea Knows Its Name."
His novel "A Moment of Amazement" has been translated into French and received the Arab World Institute Award in 2014.
