Deih is the 5th play by Abdulai Sila, and the first written in Bissau-Guinean. It is a story that tells everyday stories, with the backdrop of the process of female empowerment, founded on the friendship and complicity between two young girls who challenge the social status quo.
"Deih" is a heritage of the Peul language, a term used quite rarely, much like the sentiment it expresses. It is a concept related to human relationships, a concept that goes very far, where each person commits to giving everything for the other unconditionally and freely, for life.
"Deih" tells the story of two young women who, in a land of "peace and progress," assume themselves as DEIH.

Abdulai Sila is a writer, playwright, and editor from Guinea-Bissau. After starting his literary career as a novelist, his work transitioned to other genres, having participated in various short story collections and published four novels and eight plays in countries such as Brazil, Cape Verde, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, and the United Kingdom.
