Balkis est de retour à Tunis. Hédi qui l'avait précédée, semaine avant, l'attendait avec impatience à l'arrivée de l'aéroport de Tunis-Carthage. L'étreinte était ardente, affectueuse et chaleureuse, comme si les deux amoureux ne s'étaient pas vus depuis très longtemps.
Né à Sfax en 1961. Après avoir obtenu son baccalauréat de lettres, il part en France pour poursuivre ses études. À l'université de Rouen Normandie, il obtient tous ses diplômes dont un doctorat de linguistique en 1991.
Il est professeur à l'Université de Rouen Normandie depuis 2001. Il a eu de nombreuses responsabilités scientifiques et électives.
Il a été chargé de mission, pour la francophonie à l'Institut des Sciences de la Communication du CNRS, il a dirigé le Département des sciences du langage et de la communication, le laboratoire de recherche en sociolinguistique, Dynamique du langage in situ (DYLIS) et l'Institut de Recherche Interdisciplinaire Homme Société (IRIHS). Ses travaux portent essentiellement sur la sociolinguistique, le plurilinguisme, la francophonie et les politiques linguistique dans l'espace francophone, au Maghreb et à Mayotte, en particulier. Il est également romancier. Son premier roman, Pavillon Claude Monet, est publié en 2023, AC Éditions, Tunis.

Born in Sfax in 1961, after obtaining his baccalaureate in literature, he went to France to pursue his studies. At the University of Rouen Normandy, he earned all his degrees, including a doctorate in linguistics in 1991.
He has been a professor at the University of Rouen Normandy since 2001. He has held numerous academic and elected positions.
He served as a project manager for Francophonie at the CNRS Institute of Communication Sciences, and he directed the Department of Language and Communication Sciences, the sociolinguistics research laboratory, the Dynamics of Language in Situ (DYLIS), and the Interdisciplinary Research Institute for Human and Social Sciences (IRIHS). His work focuses primarily on sociolinguistics, multilingualism, the Francophonie, and language policies in the Francophone world, particularly in the Maghreb and Mayotte. He is also a novelist. His first novel, Pavillon Claude Monet, was published in 2023 by AC Éditions, Tunis.
