Le livre d’avant-hier soir de Syto Cavé n’est autre qu’une poétique d’exploration des territoires subjectifs et la sublimation d’un désir ou d’un vécu personnel en chant universel.
Poète, dramaturge et metteur en scène, Syto André Cavé est né le 7 août 1944. Après des études au Conservatoire d’Art dramatique à Port-au-Prince, il rejoint la Société des Messagers de l’Art fondée par Charles Alexandre Abellard et François Latour. En 1967, il s’exile aux États-Unis où il crée avec un groupe d’amis la troupe de théâtre Kouidor pour laquelle il écrit ses premières pièces qui seront mises en scène par Hervé Denis et Jacques Charlier. Quelques années après, il se consacre à la mise en scène de ses pièces et celles d’autres auteurs tels que Aimé Césaire, Ina Césaire, B. Ibanez, Claude Innocent et Simone Schwartz-Bart. À côté des chansons composées pour ses pièces, il a collaboré avec les musiciens, Toto Bissainthe, Edy Brisseaux, Mario Canonge, Alan Cavé, Wooly Saint-Louis Jean, Charly Labinsky, Ralph Millet, Réginald Policard, Eddy Prophète, Ralph Thamar, Boulo Valcourt, Joël et Mushi Widmaier.

A poet, playwright, and director, Syto André Cavé was born on August 7, 1944. After studying at the Conservatoire d’Art dramatique in Port-au-Prince, he joined the Société des Messagers de l’Art, founded by Charles Alexandre Abellard and François Latour. In 1967, he went into exile in the United States, where he founded the Kouidor theater troupe with a group of friends; for this troupe, he wrote his first plays, which were directed by Hervé Denis and Jacques Charlier. A few years later, he devoted himself to directing his own plays and those of other authors such as Aimé Césaire, Ina Césaire, B. Ibanez, Claude Innocent, and Simone Schwartz-Bart. In addition to the songs he composed for his plays, he collaborated with musicians such as Toto Bissainthe, Edy Brisseaux, Mario Canonge, Alan Cavé, Wooly Saint-Louis Jean, Charly Labinsky, Ralph Millet, Réginald Policard, Eddy Prophète, Ralph Thamar, Boulo Valcourt, Joël, and Mushi Widmaier.
