Povo alegremente nu traz-nos pois um ciclo de estórias com um tema comum, girando em torno da alegria ou, para ser mais preciso, sobre o que nos acontece antes dela. São estórias sobre a geração de ucranianos que cresceram e se fortaleceram o melhor que conseguiram, sobre como estas pessoas vivem - e sobre guerra, amor, emigração e, Hanói e, Nova Iorque e, os mortos e, os vivos e, os cegos e, os desmiolados. E o principal, são estórias sobre como ser alegre no meio de tudo isto.

Kateryna Babkina é uma jovem e popular poeta, contista, romancista, dramaturga e argumentista. Nasceu em Ivano-Frankivsk, Ucrânia, em 1985. É autora de três antologias poéticas, um romance, duas colectâneas de contos e dois livros para crianças. foi a primeira autora ucraniana com leituras na Biblioteca do Congresso, nos EUA. O seu livro My Grandfather Dances the Best mereceu-lhe o prémio Angelus em 2021.
Happy Naked People thus brings us a cycle of stories with a common theme, revolving around joy, or to be more precise, what happens to us before it. They are stories about the generation of Ukrainians who grew up and became as strong as they could, about how these people live - and about war and love and emigration and, Hanoi and, New York and, the dead and, the living and, the blind and, the brainless. And the main thing, they are stories about how to be joyful in the midst of it all.
Babkina's short stories have been translated from Ukrainian into English by Hanna Leliv and into French, Changana, Macua, Portuguese and Xitswa by the winners of the contest.
Kateryna Babkina is a young and popular poet, short story writer, novelist, playwright and screenwriter. She was born in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine, in 1985. She is the author of three poetry anthologies, one novel, two collections of short stories, and two books for children. She was the first Ukrainian author with readings at the Library of Congress in the USA. Her book My Grandfather Dances the Best won her the Angelus prize in 2021.
