Amir Muhammad (Malaysia)

Buku Fixi started in 2011 to publish urban pulp fiction in Malay and English. To date, we have published over 250 novels and short-story collections and anthologies, with the main genres being thriller, horror and crime. We also have a non-fiction label, Matahari Books, for Malaysian sociopolitical titles. We have published books by authors from Indonesia, Japan, the UK and USA.

Angeli Lacson (Philippines)

Angeli Lacson was born on 31 December 1999 in Manila, Philippines. She studied comparative literature at the University of the Philippines Diliman, where she graduated summa cum laude. She is the author of Unbecoming (Paper Trail Projects, 2023), and her poetry and essays have appeared in Protean Magazine, Salt Hill Journal, Humanities Diliman, and elsewhere. Currently, she is based in Singapore.

Annette Beger (Switzerland)

Annette Beger was born in Zürich, Switzerland in 1972. She studied acting at the Berliner Schule für Bühnenkunst, completed a classical voice training in Essen, and earned a diploma in cultural management at the Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften (ZHAW). Annette Beger founded the Kommode Verlag in October 2010.

Azadeh Parsapour (Iran)

Nogaam Publishing is a small award-winning Persian language publishing house based in the UK. We publish books that cannot be published inside Iran due to censorship. Our books expand from fiction to nonfiction and research-based works. We have also a children's books imprint that focuses on the Persian-speaking diaspora. Our objectives are to support Iranian authors, defy censorship, provide valuable books accessible to Iranians inside the country and champion the freedom to publish. All our books have a free ebook edition so Iranian readers have access to banned books. We also work with international publishers and organisations to connect Iranian authors to their peers around the world.

Bayan Rashad Faraj (Palestine)

Bayan Rashad Faraj, a writer hailing from the Balata Refugee Camp in Nablus and born in Amman, carries a deep human voice in her writings that reflects Palestinian identity and its multifaceted experiences. Her work ranges from themes of loss, hope, and identity, with a clear focus on women's empowerment and a bold, conscious exploration of societal challenges. Her writing journey began early, serving as a means for self-discovery and the formulation of her unique vision. Despite the doubts and obstacles she encountered, she successfully transformed them into a catalyst for creativity and persistence. Through her cultural and social activism, she strives to create a tangible impact, believing that every person has a story worth telling and that hope is the path toward change and progress.

Beatriz Llenín Figueroa (Puerto Rico)

Editora Educación Emergente (EEE) is a small, independent, non-profit publishing house founded in 2009 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico, by Puerto Rican lesbian women. Through eleven collections, EEE publishes creative works (literature, performing arts, visual arts) and critical works (textbooks and books in various fields of knowledge and management), all of which are peer reviewed, in both digital and print formats. Its catalogue is characterised by innovative, unusual and alternative forms, content, approaches and methods. EEE sees itself as a cultural and intellectual project, politically committed to the well-being of Puerto Rican communities in the archipelago and the diaspora, as well as to social and ecological justice.

Corinne Fleury (Mauritius)

L’Atelier des Nomades is a French-Mauritian publishing house created in 2010 by Corinne Fleury and Anthony Vallet. Over the years, the publishing house has developed a list with a strong visual writing in lifestyle and children’s books. Each book is a bridge towards the valorisation of art in the Indian Ocean region through the meeting of cultures, the mixing of ideas and creation.

Déborah Pépé (Haiti)

Déborah Pépé is a young writer with a passion for reading and writing. She was born on September 15, 1999, in Port-au-Prince. She currently resides in Haiti and is a psychology student at the Faculty of Human Sciences of the State University of Haiti. She has authored book reviews for the journal Legs et Littérature and a short story titled "Indécences," published by LEGS ÉDITION in a collection of short stories of the same name.

Ghislain Kabuyaya (Democratic Republic of Congo)

Based in the DR Congo, Fleuve de l’intrigue is a Pan-African publishing house that champions writings taking African societies as their horizon of thought and fiction.

Hani Altafah (Syria)

Marfaa for Culture and Publishing is an independent organization registered in Turkey and Beirut. It aims to play an unconventional role in publishing, translation, and authorship. Marfaa supports reading, writing, and translation through publishing, establishing reading clubs, and organizing creative writing workshops across literary, narrative and technical genres.
The organization also hosts poetry evenings, readings, and cultural discussions, producing diverse cultural content. Marfaa seeks to shape independent publishing policies in the Mediterranean through partnerships, alliances and participation in book fairs and conferences. Our mission is to defend freedom of expression and authorship, free from political influence, while promoting equality across gender, race and religion.

Ian Uviedo (Brazil)

Ian Uviedo is a writer and artist. He has published zines and books, including Computer Love, which received an edition from the publisher Lote 42. The universe of this work expanded into a workshop and an extended research. He is also the creator of Vértebras, essays on literature and art criticism published in revista celeste, and of the workshop Escrever o Rio, dedicated to reflecting on urban rivers. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of the Portuguese Language.

Jahnavi Sen (India)

Jahnavi Sen is Managing Editor at The Wire, an independent and not-for-profit digital news publication based in India where she has worked since 2016. She writes about culture, labour and human rights, and anchors regular discussions. She has a masters in development studies from IHEID, Geneva. Jahnavi was born on March 5, 1992, in New Delhi, India, where she also continues to live.

Laëtitia Saint-Loubert (France)

Laëtitia Saint-Loubert holds a Ph.D. in Caribbean Studies from the University of Warwick. She has been teaching translation studies at the University of Nantes, after holding positions at the University of La Réunion (2017–2020) and at University College Dublin (2021–2023), where she received a research grant from the Irish Research Council to rethink translation through the lens of the Caribbean ecosystem. She is the author of The Caribbean in Translation: Remapping Thresholds of Dislocation (Peter Lang, 2020), which won the Peter Lang Oxford Prize for Young Scholars in Comparative Studies. She specializes in translating contemporary literature from the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean and advocates for a more equitable, collaborative, and cross-cultural circulation of these literatures.

Lorna Zita (Mozambique)

Lorna Zita (born 12 January 1993, Gaza Province) is a Mozambican writer, poet, and screenwriter based in Mozambique. Her work explores memory, identity, gender, and social transformation, giving voice to marginalized communities and women’s experiences. She is the author of Raízes e Gritos and creator of the TV series, expanding her storytelling across literature, stage, radio, and audiovisual media, with international collaborations.

Léanne Ramassamy (Martinique)

Léanne Ramassamy is an author fond of poetry, born July 3, 1995 in Martinique, where she grew up and still lives. A graduate in literature and a competitive sportswoman, her first text published in 2024 by Éditions du Sucrier and entitled Nikou Champion, embodies her desire to transmit the love of reading and sport to children. It was during her end-of-studies internship that she obtained the opportunity to collaborate with her editor, Renée-Laure Zou. This positive experience in a children's publishing house has pushed her today to address older children, a new challenge that she still plans to take on with her message-carrying rhymes.

Manuel Retamal (Chile)

Invertido Ediciones is an independent Chilean publishing house specialising in the publication of works related to the LGBTIQ+ community, publishing both texts addressing issues of sexual and gender diversity and works by authors from within this community.

Mar Carrera (Spain)

Pol-len edicions is a Catalan publishing cooperative formed by four people. Founded in 2011, they are dedicated to publishing books of critical thought for transformative action. With a wide range of genres, their themes are feminism, ecology, and Euskal Herria (a country from which they translate very diverse works into Catalan).
But the main characteristic of Pol-len edicions is their work and commitment to eco-edition. This means calculating, minimising and communicating the environmental impact of paper books. This task has been carried out, since 2022, through the Institut de l’ecoedició de Catalunya (www.institutecoedicio.cat).

Max Pasakorn (Singapore)

Max Pasakorn (he/she/they) is the author of creative nonfiction chapbook A Study in Our Selves (Neon Hemlock Press, 2023), co-editor of poetry magazine Kopi Break, co-editor for Perks of Being Dumped (Marshall Cavendish, 2024) and poetry reader at Split Lip Magazine. Max’s writing, which explores queerness, food, pop culture and diaspora, has won the 2024 swamp pink prize and the 2022 Chestnut Review Stubborn Writers’ Contest.

Melisa Nungaray Blanco (Mexico)

Melissa Nungaray (Guadalajara, Mexico, 1998) is a writer holding a master’s degree in Literary Studies. She has resided in the State of Mexico since 2010. She began her journey in poetry at the age of seven with the publication of Raíz del cielo (2005). She currently directs the digital magazine En la Masmédula and is the author of five books, most notably El cielo cae a voces (2023).

Nataschia Navarro Macker (Chile)

Nataschia Navarro Macker, also known as TopoPanda, is a writer, illustrator, and General Editor at Desastre Natural Ediciones. Born in Santiago, Chile, on the afternoon of July 5, 1996 - during the winter- Nataschia has lived in the city ever since. Nataschia has illustrated books such as El lenguaje de los árboles by Armando (Bosque Azul, 2021), Los amantes del diablo by Renée Dunan (Viuda Negra, 2024), and Carmilla by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu (Viuda Negra, 2025), and has written for magazines such as ocho:treinta, IMAGI, and Pudú marciano. The works of Nataschia include Ser Trans (Desastre Natural, 2018) and Las flores crecerán sobre mi cuerpo (Invertido Ediciones, 2023).

Nicolás Jiménez Ariza (Colombia)

Chibalete Editores is an independent publishing house based in Bogotá, Colombia, specialising in the publication of cultural, educational and scientific works aimed at readers in Latin America. Our work aims to promote the democratisation of reading and access to knowledge through books and e-books, whilst adhering to rigorous editorial standards and emphasising the social relevance of our work.

Olivier Jeandel (Thailand/Cambodge)

Founded in 2004 at the Institut français in Phnom Penh by Olivier Jeandel and Jean-Paul Collet, the Carnets d’Asie bookstore expanded rapidly with the opening of a second branch in November 2007 at the Alliance française in Bangkok.
Occupying a 65-square-meter space within the media library, the bookstore offers nearly 4,000 general-interest titles alongside a selection of second-hand books, stationery, and cultural items. It also stands out for its regular schedule of meet-the-author sessions, lectures, and events. A true hub for community life and cultural exchange, the bookstore has established itself as a key player in promoting Francophone culture in Thailand, driven by the dedication of Olivier Jeandel and his team.

Rocío Medina (Uruguay)

Rocío Medina (Uruguay, 2000) is a poet and literature teacher. She published Herrumbrada (La Coqueta, 2024) - a book honored with the 2025 INLET/MEC Ópera Prima Award for Poetry - and Estampitas de la hija pródiga (Pez en el Hielo, 2025). Her work is included in anthologies such as En el camino de los perros and the Antología Panhispánica de poetas jóvenes del siglo XXI. She has participated in festivals and coordinated literary projects and workshops in Uruguay.

Rubén Yucra (Peru)

Rubén Tamero Yucra Ccahuana was born on April 25 in Ancahuasi, Anta, Cusco (Peru), where he currently resides. Holding a degree in Intercultural Bilingual Primary Education from Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, he is a Quechua poet and educator. He is the author of the bilingual poetry collection Qespiriy (2016) and received an honorable mention at the National Literature Award in Indigenous Languages ​​(2018). He has participated in literary fairs and festivals in Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia, promoting Quechua literature and intercultural education.

Salifou Djibo (Niger)

Salifou Djibo is a Nigerien writer born on January 1, 2001, in Dosso (Niger). A law student at the University of Abomey-Calavi in ​​Benin, he is the author of the novel Way Hay Way Yeri (2025), which explores the social and human realities of society. His literary work reflects on African youth, memory, and the continent's contemporary challenges.

Samar Haddad (Syria)

Atlas is an independent publishing house founded in 1956. It is a family legacy and it is currently managed by the second generation. We respect, support and defend the Bibliodiversity (diversity in the world of publishing) where every genre should have equal opportunities of display and promotion.
Atlas is an active member of the International Alliance of Independent Publishers since the year 2009. Samar Haddad, the publisher of Atlas, is the coordinator of the Arabic language network since the year 2018.

Samar Hoballah (Morocco)

"Al Mouggar" is a Berber word meaning "meeting place." Founded in Agadir in 1983 by Charif and Camille Hoballah, the Al Mouggar Livres bookstore has supported the city's academic growth since its inception. The French-language section is managed by Samar Hoballah. Spanning 330 m², the store now offers nearly 30,000 titles in several languages ​​(French, Arabic, English, German, and Spanish), covering educational, academic, technical, and cultural fields, alongside a wide selection of stationery.

Slava Svitova (Ukraine)

Creative Women Publishing is the first feminist publishing house in Ukraine, founded by women for women — those who write and those who read.
Creative Women Publishing is an umbrella brand of the social enterprise Creative Women Space, whose mission is to create an empowering environment for women’s growth in creativity and business. It specialises in feminist literature and in exposing gender stereotypes in Ukrainian society related to taboo topics of both women’s and men’s experiences.

Soukayna Abdouni (Morocco)

Born in Agadir, Morocco, in 2005, Soukayna Abdouni is a third-year student in the literary preparatory classes in Lille. A winner of both the first and fourth prizes in the "Poésie en liberté" competition (2022 and 2023), she grew up in Morocco - an experience that shaped her perspective - before continuing her studies in France, where she currently resides. Active in various community initiatives, she explores in her writing the role of youth as well as the place of hope and beauty in the contemporary world.

Souleymane Gueye (Senegal)

Plumes du Monde is an independent bookstore-café located in the Sicap Liberté 3 neighborhood of Dakar. Established in 2017 in a modest 15-square-meter space, it has evolved over the years into a hybrid cultural hub spanning 300 square meters, combining a bookstore, café, and coworking space. The establishment is committed to accessibility and to serving as a "third place" that fosters freedom and debate; it also embraces a vision of bookselling as an active cultural force within the local community, engaging in activities both inside and outside its premises.

Sufian Massalema (Czech Republic)

Born 1999 in Jablonec nad Nisou. His mother is from Liberec, Czechia and hist father grew up in Baghdad. He graduated from the Faculty of Law at Charles University, and at the same time is studying Middle Eastern Studies. His texts have been translated into Polish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, English, Arabic and Vietnamese. In 2024, his debut collection, "The Possibilities of the Overlooked", was published by the publishing house Větrné mlýny and nominated for the Jiří Orten Literary Award.

Sylvie Ekobo (Cameroon)

Born on December 25, 2002, in Yaoundé, Sylvie Ekobo is a young Cameroonian writer. A graduate of the Advanced School of Mass Communication (ESSTIC), she is an avid reader and the winner of the 2023 International Marie Wabbes Prize. She is also the author of two books: Menanga veut apprendre à lire and Les déchirures de l’esprit, published by Akoma Mba.

Tobiloba Afolayan (Nigeria)

Tobiloba Afolayan is a storyteller who writes romance exploring love - from slow burns to soul-deep connections shaped by destiny and faith. She holds a degree in English and Literature from the University of Ibadan and a Master’s in Digital Campaign and Content Creation from Queen Margaret University, UK. She is the author of Shina, and Odidere series. She also works as a ghostwriter for clients worldwide.

Ulrich Talla Wamba (Cameroon)

Founded in 1995, Éditions Akoma Mba is the oldest publishing house specialising in illustrated albums and comics in Central Africa. Its main objective is to promote Africa and African values, universal to young children, through innovative editorial content. It has a catalogue of around one hundred titles, published in several languages (French, English, local languages). Akoma Mba distributes its books in Cameroon and internationally. Its authors come from Belgium, Benin, Brazil, Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Togo, etc.

Yoan Francis (Mauritius)

Yoan Francis, born February 27, 2004 in Pamplemousses, Mauritius, is a young Mauritian author. He began writing in high school through poetry, distinguished during a recital of Baudelaire's 200th anniversary, then explored slam. Soon in his third year of journalism, he observes Mauritian society and draws texts imbued with melancholy and realism, addressing identity, tolerance and solidarity.

Zainab Akhlaqi (Afghanistan)

Zainab Akhlaqi worked as a reporter, photographer and administrator for a cultural institute based in Kabul until 2021. She is a writer and contributor to My Pen Is the Wing of a Bird (MacLehose Press, 2022), Rising After the Fall (Scholastic, 2023) and My Dear Kabul (Coronet/Hodder, 2024). Her short story ‘The Hotel’ was published in Pen Transmissions. She currently lives in Canada and is working on her memoir.
