Rich in the vitality of its flora and fauna, the Caribbean is considered to be one of the world's biodiversity hotspots. But, largely as a result of human activity, whole swathes of this priceless heritage are now threatened with extinction. Specialists believe, however, that we can reverse the trend if, aware of the danger, we learn to know, respect and protect our natural riches.
